At the age of five Ray realised he could draw or copy most things with ease which happily has always stayed with him. His favoured subjects are Landscape, Seascape and Portraits, painted using a range of media including oil paint, watercolour, gouache, soft Pastel or oil Pastel

Having been through the mill of Art School abstract, modernism and contemporary approaches to expression at establishments as far apart as Swindon, Southampton, London, Birmingham and Liverpool Ray now always paints for his own satisfaction (or frustration) with a realism approach to a subject seen through his eyes.
